Caganer Catalanet child

This little Catalan boy dressed in the traditional shepherd's costume is an undeniable symbol of Catalonia. The Bible tells us that shepherds accompanied the birth of Jesus, and their theatrical performances recall scenes from the first Christmas. The characteristic espadrilles, the goatskin jacket, and the barretina (a traditional Catalan cap) are reminiscent of the attire of the castellers (human tower builders). And of course, the little Catalan boy couldn't be without the caganer (a defecating figure), a double Catalan emblem in one figurine!
