Caganer Washerwoman

This world we live in is constantly evolving; everything changes at lightning speed. So much so that, besides the dinosaurs, there are also professions that have become obsolete. A good example is that of the washerwoman, a woman who would wash clothes by hammering them with a wooden paddle or rubbing them repeatedly with a smooth stone. Many homes didn't have running water, so the public washhouse was a meeting point, and, well, it's easy to imagine how the women gossiped when they ran out of things to talk about. In the absence of social media, there's no healthier exercise than discussing other people's business—an age-old habit that's sure to remain popular!
