Caganer Campesina

The peasant in a white shirt, sash, barretina (traditional Catalan cap), and espadrilles is the most typical caganer in Catalan tradition, a millennia-old practice that continues to be a pillar of the global economy. However, while thick skin is necessary for working the land, the vigorous young women who also toil with the crops should not be excluded. This caganer represents a peasant woman brimming with energy and pride who, halfway home, has decided to stop for a moment to fertilize the soil.
