Product details
Charles André Joseph Marie de Gaulle was a French general and statesman who led the French Free Forces during World War II. In 1958, he founded the French Fifth Republic and served as its president.
In France he is known as General de Gaulle or simply Le Géneral, and although he managed to significantly reduce political chaos and violence, he divided France when he granted freedom to the French colony of Algeria (as illustrated by Joan Daniel-Bezsonoff in his book Killing De Gaulle).
